Polygon exists as a service to the student organizations of College of Engineering, in order to foster cooperation and communication among students, student organizations, CoE, and UW-Madison. Polygon acts as a bridge between students and administration, by providing open forums for discussion, while also organizing many of their own events.
Polygon provides an avenue for student opinion in the daily and long term plans for the College of Engineering. Through an open forum, students and student organizations can discuss their ideas for improvement in the CoE, knowing that the power exists to enact their ideas. Polygon is a network for information, resources, and funding, providing student organizations a means to accomplish their goals. Through Polygon's own college wide and campus wide events, Polygon hopes to foster camaraderie and collaboration.

PREAMBLE: As the representative student body of the College of Engineering and in Order to provide quality higher education, student services, and opportunities to our constituents we shall establish a meta-council to empower this and similar other representative bodies by providing communication, mission, and vision to our student bodies.
WHEREAS the College of Engineering Student Council (Polygon)is the official voice and representative body of the students of the College of Engineering (CoE); and
THAT, this body is comprised of CoE registered student organizations and generally elected officers as described in ; and
THAT, acting as the primary connection between students and the CoE; and
THAT, given the shared governance of funding of CoE student organizations through the CoE Funding Committee by the election of a CoE student as described in the Article VI of the SC constitution; and
THAT, this and other similar bodies shall be referred to as a student council (SC); and
THAT, an association of these SCs shall be termed a meta-council.
WHEREAS, that this SC, being established in ~1925,
THAT, given the need for an official body defined as the meta-council (MC) to ensure communication between these SCs; and
AS RESOLVED, by the Council here assembled that we shall organize,
TO increase communication, organization, and cooperation between official representative student bodies
TO form a MC through a MC initiative (MCI) with other SCs whose mission shall be to formalize this communication, ensure the power and rights of student councils are protected, and to expand student power and student voice.
TO use our right as SCs to structure and govern ourselves and our constituents as is most effective in the stated mission in a manner agreed on by their constituents.
HEREFORE the CoE Student Council, Polygon, endorses the spirit of the meta-council initiative and will commit resources to the achievement of these stated goals.
